Re: Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."
Hi Peter, it really looks like a license error. Is the feature TDB_TCFE8 20.000 in your feature list? Does your institute has valid maintenance? I do not like to request confidential information here in the forum. Just contact support@micress.de including your license diagnostic output and your affi...

Re: Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."
It is worth trying to run it without MICpad. Maybe some output is not shown.
Drag and drop your driving file to the MICRESS icon on your desktop or the MICRESS_TQ.bat in the MICRESS/Bin folder to check this.
Best,
Ralph

Re: Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."
It is a command line tool.
Run 'cmd', navigate with "cd" to MICRESS/Safenet, run license diagnostics.
I thought that you are running under Linux. It is very unlikely that you have different environments for 6.4 and 7.1.
Anyway, it does not hurt to check license diagnostics.

Ralph

Re: Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."
Hi PeGr, usually, there are no problems with TC 2018 and MICRESS 7.1. As I wrote before, your simulations using your GES5 file is running with 7.1 fine on my side. @ralph: i got the licences checked beforehand. IT told me i'm good to go... What does that mean? Do you use the same environment for 6.4...

Re: Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."
Hi PeGr,
works under LINUX with 7.101 for me.
Maybe you should contact your IT to exclude license issues.

Re: Initial concentrations
I used newest version MICRESS 7.2.
I think it is sufficient to remove the header from concentration file and begin with the raw numbers.

Ralph

Re: Initial concentrations
Attached is a modification of an example. Instead of setting a constant copper concentration of 3 at%, a range from 3.5 at% at the bottom to 0 at% at the top is set. I used this expression in DP_MICRESS: ( 700 - z-1 ) / 700 * 3.5 Be aware that I just modified the initial concentration and did not ch...

Re: Initial concentrations
The usual and most flexible way is to write your own script. A text editor might also be possible for easy geometries (e.g. horizontal layers). If you want, you can also use DP_MICRESS operations. Local coordinates are given by x, y, z variables. - open an arbitrary result file with the desired geom...

Re: manual
Hi Jane,
that's a little bit to unspecific.
Newest manuals of release are online.
See https://docs.micress.rwth-aachen.de/7.1/index.html and https://docs.micress.rwth-aachen.de/homat/
If something is wrong in there, please tell us.
