Hi. Is there a way to add multiple grain numbers to the add_to_grain (grain_number) option in Micress, in a single command?

Re: running with Win/Linux
Dear Jiwon,
You can use micress license in Linux clients, though you are running Windows license server. No need to update the license.
Best,
Deepu

Re: interpretation of the tetragonal anisotropy functions
Hi Janin,
Thanks for the explanation. What does the factor nx, ny and nz stands for. Does it represent the co-ordinates in the cartesian plane?

interpretation of the tetragonal anisotropy functions
Hi. Micress has the following tetragonal anisotropy functions in built: # This anisotropic interaction is not yet implemented. # Instead: isotropic-metallic # Anisotropy of interfacial stiffness? (tetragonal) # (1 - delta * (4*(nx^4 +nz^4) -3) # * (1-nz^2 +nz^2*faktor) # Coefficient delta (<1.), fac...

possible error with TQ interface
Hello Bernd,
I'm getting the following error with Micress 6.402 after a recent change in the license server for ThermoCalc and Micress. The same simulation used to run fine before. Is this error due to TQ interface incompatibility? Thanks in advance. Warm Regards,
Deepu

Re: Grain Growth in Additive Manufacturing
Hi Chamara, What all data would you like to import from EBSD? Coming through Dream3D is another route to bring the data to Micress. Set up your microstructure in Dream3D and import to Micress in VTK format. But this route will only support 3D microstructures I guess.. The new version of micress also...

Re: Interface Interaction
Dear Dasith,
Temperature gradient is defined within the simulation domain(temperature change in space), whereas the cooling rate definition is for the cooling rate to be followed with time (temperature change with time).
Best Wishes,
Deepu

Dear Micress team,
In case you missed out on this topic, Sai Li needs helps in starting the license server in Windows. I couldn't help him here beyond a point..
Warm Regards,

Re: problem of coupling with Thermo-Calc
Hi Sai Li, Yes, the license file here should be the micress license file, for the FlexLM server. ThermoCalc uses Sentinel license server. By the way, your ThermoCalc license server should also be in the same machine if you want to use micress with TQ coupling. You can come to this later on. For me, ...
