activity energy of Mn in GB
Dear Bernd, Thank you so much for your previous kind help and they are quit helpful ! And there is a new problem for the activity energy for the boundary-duffusion. Please check the text in attachment. We want to study the effect of the activity energy of Mn in grain boundary. We think at 720C the a...

The license is not available
Dear Bernd,
May I ask a question about the license of the MICRESS 6.3?
After a new starting of the computer, we found the license of our hasn't been available.
That would be appreciated if you could tell us how to fix it!
Best,
Sai

Re: Asymmetry in the simulation
Thanks Bernd, sorry for the delay !
It's the same problems. Perhaps we fixed it by decrease the spacing layer of the pearlite. I speculate it might be numerical problem or something wrong on the version.
Thanks again for the help !
Regards,
Sai

Re: Asymmetry in the simulation
Dear Bernd,
Tkank you for the reply !
Yes, they are the similar problems. While for the previous one, the asymmetry sometimes occurs but now it seems that we can't aviod it.
Regards,
Sai

Re: Asymmetry in the simulation
Dear Bernd,
Sure. the evolution of the microstructure are showed in image 1 to 3. But when we decrease the thickness of the cementite (white phase), the situation is better.
Thank you so much !

Asymmetry in the simulation
Hi Bernd,
May I ask what causes the asymmetry during the similation (please see image1)? We have changed lots of paremeters but it doesn't work. The versions is MICRESS 6.300
Thank you so much!

Re: how to turn off the Gibbs-Thomson effect
Dear Bernd, Thank you so much for your kind help ! Our results are similar to you ! Maybe the interface missing at the initial stage is not an important matter. But may I ask why the migration rate of the alpha/gamma interface (middle part) is so slow ? it seems not consistent with the experimental ...

Re: how to turn off the Gibbs-Thomson effect
Dear Bernd,
Thank you so much for your kind help !
We have tried it one more time but the results still seems un-normal. I have sent the in.file to you. Please check it~
Thank you again for your kind help ! We appreciate you so much~

Re: how to turn off the Gibbs-Thomson effect
Dear Bernd, Thank you so much for your kind reply ! I have sent the dri.file to you~please check it ! As a matter of facet, we just changed the shape of the grains compared with the spheral model (we have discussed before). But it is very strange that the interface is missing at the planer model. Th...
