Re: Dendritic growth under high cooling rates

Dear Bernd, thanks for the fast response. I am currently using MICRESS 7.1. I recognizes that weird input configurations. Micress is normally asking me for both interface energy and kinetic coefficient. At 1/1 etc. it just wants to know the kinetic coefficient, even if i provide it with both numbers...

Re: Dendritic growth under high cooling rates

Hello Bernd, thank you for your support so far. You were totally right and I discarded the whole bird's eye view idea (since i had the wrong perception of it). I now changed it to the normal side-point-of-view. After some research, i tried to add phase interaction inbetween phases 1/1, 2/2 and 3/3, ...

Re: Dendritic growth under high cooling rates

Hello Bernd, thank you for your fast response. You were absolutely right, as soon as i changed the time steps in the mentioned categories, i was able to see the dendrite grow, so thank you for the great tip! Concerning the last passage of your response, i am not quite sure how to adress these sugges...

Dendritic growth under high cooling rates

Good morning everyone, i am currently trying to simulate dendritic growth during solidification of X37CrMoV5 after EDM-processing. Due to EBSD-pictures, we do know that we are expecting austenite and ferrit after solidification. By now, i am having a hard time to even get a stable denrite to grow, e...

Re: Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."

Hi ralph, thanks for all your efforts. Unfortunately neither the MICpad nor the program itself works for me, it still does not go beyond the point of reading the GESfile... The license diagnostics doesn't show any issues aswell (as far as i can read it)... Hi PeGr, there seems to be something wrong ...

Re: Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."

Hi ralph, i am using one of the computers at the institute which are operating on Windows 10 Enterprise. It has both 6.4 and 7.1 installed. I recommend to check it yourself: - Run Safenet/MICRESS-7.101/Safenet/license_diagnostics-linux.exe in the environment where you execute MICRESS If i am doing t...

Re: Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."

Is there the possibility, that GES file created via Thermo-Calc 2018b is no longer compatible with Micress 7.100?

I tried an older GES file, which still works with Micress 6.4, to run with 7.1 and i still have the problem, that 7.1 does not read the GES file, eventhough it works with 6.4...

Stuck on step "Reading Ges5 file..."

I have already looked in the forum to see if anyone had similar problems, but could not find anything. I am using the latest Micress version 7.100 and ThermoCalc 2018b. When I try to start the simulation, I can't get past the point in the subject. In how far the simulation itself runs at all can not...
