Re: Austenite → lamellar pearlite

Dear Bernd, I have a problem with the phase simulation in MICRESS, it would be nice if you could give me a hint. I am trying to simulate pearlite formation from austenite phase and compare with experimental results. But based on experimental results, I should get the best pearlite formation at 580 C...

Re: Pearlite to Austenite/Cementite

Dear Bernd,

thank you for reply.

My material is Fe-1%C and I want to simulate the red marked microstructure. Is this wrong?
I sent you already the dri file by e-mail. Should I decrease the Cementite nucleation distance?

Best regards,
Ali

Re: Pearlite to Austenite/Cementite

Dear Bernd I have changed the grid size for the first simulation based on your suggestion from 0.1 to 0.02. I observed two different results. But I don't know which one is correct? And the simulation with the grid size 0,02 takes very long time. after about a week it is still running. how can I decr...

Re: Pearlite to Austenite/Cementite

Dear Bernd, thank you very much for your nice feedback. I will try to correct them based on your comments. I will update here again. Regarding the first simulation, I only considered isotropic growth, but I do not know how they grow anisotropically. Do you know which parameters might be leading to t...

Pearlite to Austenite/Cementite

Dear Bernd, I am trying to simulate the microstructure evolution from pearlite to cementite/austenite structure. Unfortunately, the austenite phases could not grow fast and after several changes of the interaction mobility between the phases, the ferrite phases still remain in the structure. Do you ...

Re: Ferrite / Cemenite to Austenite

Dear Bernd, thank you so much for your nice reply. But I want to study on the influence of heat-treatment on the lammela spacing, it means I need to simulate cementite and ferrite phases instead of pearlite phase as a chessboard like pattern. Do you think it is possible? Further, for the second heat...

Re: Ferrite / Cemenite to Austenite

Dear Bernd, thank you very much for your feedback. I corrected the first problem. But the second has not yet solevd and I have chacked it with different parameters. I wonder I simulated this process with these parameters in version 6.04 and austenite phases nucleated and grew easily. would you pleas...

Re: Ferrite / Cemenite to Austenite

Dear Bernd, I want to simulate cementite+ferrite (from previous simulation that you corrected) to austenite using restart, I have 2 problems as follwoing: 1- My initial temperature is 298K and after 80s it reaches 1030 K, but after 1 s the temperature reaches about 974K and then goes to 1030K in 79s...
