Re: using 1d_temperature module fo solid solid transformation
Hi Bernd, actually what i exacly want to do is to simulate the microstructure evolutions in the rim zone of the workpiece under EDM process. as result of induced thermal energy, we will have a melting and resolidifications on the surface of workpiece and solid-solid transformation in the surface sub...

using 1d_temperature module fo solid solid transformation
Hi Bernd, is it possible to use 1d_temperature model for solid solid transformation?. There is AlCu_id temperature model in examples of Micress which start from the liquid (simulates solidification). i want to use this model but i don't want to simulate solidification. also i wanted to know how the ...

Re: importing the initial microstructure
hi
concerning the same problem. as you can see in the attached file. there are lots of small grains in the perrite lammela. is there any option that i can merge this small grains? or can you give me a advice to solve this problem?

Re: importing the initial microstructure
hi , i could solve the problem with help from a colleague of me. the point was that i should gotten rid of the noises in the picture. the noises are the small pixells that may have ligh cream or grau color in for example the with area (see the pic). every small pixel with the grow color is considere...

Re: importing the initial microstructure
Hi Bernd, thanks alot for your answer. i didn't know how i can define different phases. in better words how to tell wich grain is for example ferrit and wich one is perrite :). so i made the second *txt file to define the grain properties (for example: phase number, direction, etc ). but it does not...

importing the initial microstructure
Hi Bernd, I use MICRESS 6.3 and try to simulate transformation of a domain with ferrit and cementite grains to a domain mainly composed of austenite grains. i have succesfully done this simulation for a artificial domain (manually drawn). In the next step i want to us REM images from the cross-secti...

Re: question about Gamma Alpha Example
Thanks alot for your response, the other question that i have is, that what kind of model you have taken for interface mobility is the mix methode, or diffusional method. there are different approaches in the literature for example by steinbach or Zwaag and etc. it is a little confusing. :? Best reg...

question about Gamma Alpha Example
Hi Bernd, I am trying to work on Micress Example Gamma Alpha. I dont completly understand some of the points in this *.dri file. First is how you find the surface energy and kinetic coefficient between phases? and more importantly about the temperature. the temperature at which the initial equilibri...

Hi bernd,
Sorry for bombing you with lots of messages . i just wanted to say when i use shell for running MICRESS. the software works so the problem appears when i use Micpad.
