Re: Stop in Routine outResult: Unable to open *_conc1.mcr

DP_MICRESS might get stuck handling such a long file series. At least, I observed this on my computer.
You can copy a subset of the series to a subfolder to open it. Let's say about 20 files. This should work.

Best,

Re: Stop in Routine outResult: Unable to open *_conc1.mcr

No idea what a Fortran IO error of 38 in this context means. Descriptions of this error state do not make sense for me in this context. Anyway, ASCII presentation for real numbers (as in concentration fields) waste a lot of disk space. Have a look at the files with an normal text editor. Depending o...

Re: Stop in Routine outResult: Unable to open *_conc1.mcr

Hi Constantin, you set a very short output interval. Unfortunately, the compression library we use under Windows has a file size limit of 2 GB. My test is still running but I guess this limit is reached esp. for concentration output because the compression rate for these files is lower than e.g. pha...

Dear Stratos,

there is an update 7.002 available on our download server. Use your usual download credentials.
It is sufficient to replace the executables located in Binaries_XXX/Bin in your installation.
Please give it a try.

Re: error (72) floating overflow

Hi Josh,

there are some numerical differences between these versions. However, the results look very similar and both types of nucleation events occur.

Re: error (72) floating overflow

Hi Josh, Mike, the floating point exception occurs in both version - Windows and Linux - while the TQ library copes with the requested calculations and thermo-dynamic data. Not all exceptions are caught in this library. Usually, this does not make the results worse because results from such errornou...

Re: error (72) floating overflow

I do not know from any problem regarding changing OS between creation and usage of GES5 files. To exclude this generally possible source of error, testing would be best. MICRESS 6.4 uses a TQ library from Thermo-Calc 2017a. As far as I know, Thermo-Calc does not break backwards compatibility since 2...

Re: Issues running simulations in parallel version

Please have also a look at your sequential TabP.
When I activated nucleation in 6.2, most of the time was spent in TQ. This is a serial part and running it in parallel will give you no benefit.
Parallel is good for diffusion, stress, etc.

Re: Issues running simulations in parallel version

The license can be updated independent of the installation.
I guess only the license was updated.

Don't know.
I will send you the download details for 6.4.
