Re: precipitation of Ternary Alloy

Hi. Can you give a little more details about your simulation set up? Also, if possible, can you give a snapshot of the thickening borders? Do you see any spreading of the interface??

Re: FD correction

Hi Ali, I would like to recommend you to look at the following papers in this context, if you haven't gone through them already. J. Eiken, B. Böttger, and I. Steinbach, Multiphase-field approach for multicomponent alloys with extrapolation scheme for numerical application, Phys. Rev. E 73, 066122 (h...

Yes, it worked. Thanks Ralph.

Re: Micpad issues with Micress 6.4

I'm facing this issue in Ubuntu 16.04 and Opensuse Leap 42.1. I haven't tested with Windows.

Re: Micpad issues with Micress 6.4

Hi Ralph,
I haven't tried MICpad 6.402 yet. I will give it a try.

Yes, it shows a wrong process id. For example, it showed me 45113 whereas the real one was 45114. (It always take one number less than the real process ID)

Micpad issues with Micress 6.4

Hi. I'm facing the following two issues with the new micress version (6.4), when I use Micpad. 1. When we stop the job in Micpad, it doesn't really stop and keeps running in the background. 2. If you restart a simulation with 'overwrite' option, crazy things happen. It tries to retain the old result...

Re: Recrystallisation

Hi Bernd, Thanks for the input. It worked. I have another question. In case of recrystallization, lets say, I have multiple types of nucleation (say nucleation at the interface and bulk). Since the phase number is same everywhere, how can I ensure that the new 'interface' nucleation is not going to ...

Re: Recrystallisation

Hello Bernd, Can you give an example of a driving file input (the nucleation data region), where the add_to_grain option can be used to modify the stored energy value as you said in the post below? I was not successful in doing this. I tried this option by giving a specific grain number. The stored ...

Who is allowed to post in Micress Forum???

Hi Micress Forum Members, This topic is just to inform you that you are allowed to reply to other's queries in this forum. Sometimes I see that a new query posted by someone gets 'views' but no one takes the time or risk (I suppose ;) ) to reply to the query, except the micress team members or a for...

Re: GES5 Issue

Hi Josh, Welcome to the Micress Forum. In the Micress driving file, the input required is: # Concentration data # ================== # Number of dissolved constituents? (int) Here, you need to specify only the number of dissolved components, which is 2 components in your case. If you correct this in...
