Re: Solidification of Cu alloys
Dear worker, Welcome to the MICRESS Forum! While in newer MICRESS versions, the "penalty" function (which uses the modification of the driving force to prevent negative phase compositions) can be used independently from the "limits" (which do not allow TQ-equilibria outside a user-defined compositio...

Re: Initial concentrations
Dear Roscoe, This option has been introduced in Version 7.1 of MICRESS and can be specified in the Output section of the driving file: # Output # ====== # # Output times # ------------ # Finish input of output times (in seconds) with 'end_of_simulation' # 'regularly-spaced' outputs can be set with '...

Re: Parameters for latent heat?
Of course, the last formula must read:
f'α=(fα/(fα+f*m))3/2 ∗ (fα+f*m)
with
f*m = fm -fcrit if fm ≥ fcrit
f*m = 0 else
f'α=(fα/(fα+f*m))3/2 ∗ (fα+f*m)
with
f*m = fm -fcrit if fm ≥ fcrit
f*m = 0 else

Re: Solidification of Cu alloys
Dear A ZU, Welcome to the MICRESS forum. Unfortunately, there are various reasons which can lead to a behavior like what you describe, especially in an old MICRESS version like 6.4. But, generally, I would proceed in the following way: 1.) Check whether your secondary phase has been attributed to th...

Re: solid-solid phase transformation
Dear Kaiyang, What do you mean with "organization effect"? I did not find any obvious problems in your driving file. There may be different numerical reasons why you do not get cementite as expected. Depending on whether you do observe nucleation events for cementite or not, I could imagine the foll...

Re: Initial concentrations
Hi Roscoe,
This seems impossible - maybe you change the file rights of the .dri-file or something similar by your modification?
Or what exactly did you do?
Bernd

Re: Initial concentrations
Dear Roscoe,
Have you already been able to open and run unchanged example driving files by using the MICpad editor? Then it should also work with the .dri-file which Ralph has created for you.
Best wishes
Bernd

Re: Phase determination
Dear Rosco, In the example input file which you append, the nature of the "austenite" phase is only reflected indirectly by the phase data and phase interaction data which are provided in the input file. That means, it could be any phase with the given properties, and without knowing the purpose of ...

Re: stress
Dear kaiyang, It seems that the only problem is the extremely high elastic strain of 2% which you apply in z-direction. This leads to numerical problems with the interfaces, in turn somehow leading to grain boundary adhesion at the bcc particles, and very fast movement of the fcc/fcc-grain boundarie...

Re: stress
Dear kaiyang, Welcome to the MICRESS forum. Without additional context it is not possible to understand what happens hear. You should provide more information about your material and setup, and what you intend to simulate. Optimal would be to also attach or paste your input file here. Just judging f...
