Hi Sai Li,
No need to change the value of the environment variable. From the value you have currently, I see that the hostname of your license server is MML-PC. Hence in the etc\hosts file, change the word 'Users' to 'MML-PC'. Then it will work.
Best,
Deepu

Re: problem of coupling with Thermo-Calc
Hi Sai Li, Don't worry about your computer skills. Everyone starts as beginners :) Yes, changing the system environment requires you to be a local admin. But don't worry about this one now. See if you can add the IP address in etc/hosts, without admin privilages. If it doesn't allow, you should take...

Re: problem of coupling with Thermo-Calc
Hi Sai Li, Happy to know that the example ran. Have you checked the environment variable and etc\hosts as I mentioned? If yes, and if the problem still persists, you can do the following. Type in 'verbose', after you reach the point where this error comes. See what comes on your screen. The messages...

Re: problem of coupling with Thermo-Calc
Hi Sai Li, From the inputs you have given here, I'm not sure whats causing this error in the example. It could even be a special character somewhere in the driving file. I'm attaching a driving file that works for me with Micress 6.3. You can give a try with the attached file. Meanwhile, you can als...

Hi Sai Li,
No need to send the IP. Can you give the details of the problem you are facing while running the example?

Re: problem of coupling with Thermo-Calc
Dear Sai Li, For running a job without database, you can try running a Micress example. You can find it in the Micress installation directory. I would recommend you to run the example Grain_Growth_dri.txt. This one doesn't have a database coupling. This is a quick way of double checking for Micress ...

Re: problem of coupling with Thermo-Calc
Hi Sai Li, Welcome to Micress Forum. I think your PC is having a problem with finding a license for Micress. In older versions of Micress, the license check was done before the very start of reading the input file. But in the newer versions, the license check is somehow done a bit later. Hence, thou...

Re: Martensitic Transformation
Hello Bernd, I have some questions in the following context: An alternative thermodynamic approach is the "supersaturated" bcc phase which you mentioned. Besides the normal BCC_A1 phase, a second phase in MICRESS is linked to BCC_A1 phase in the database (named BCC_A1_2). In MICRESS 6.3 there is an ...

Re: precipitation of Ternary Alloy
Dear 1994513kong, Are you dealing with steels? If yes, are you using any redistribution models like nple or para? Interfacial mobility do influence simulation time, but it do influence your result for the typical grid sizes we use. Hence, I would recommend you not to use interfacial mobility to spee...

Re: precipitation of Ternary Alloy
Hi 1994513kong, Thanks for sharing the data. I'm still a little confused here on the images you have shared. Are these coming from the same simulation? Following are my suggestions: 1. As far as I understand, you want to have the precipitates in the square shape as show in image 1. Right? But there ...
