Dear experts,
I am trying to calculate the strain tensor from *uxCV, *uyCV and *uzCV files. The displacement unit is percent. I want to know wehter it is the percent of dx (grid length) or others? And can MICRESS output strain as one of the calculation results?
Many thanks!

Re: about displacement
I am sorry, but there is no output for the strain tensor components, you have to calculate it manually from the displacement field.
The displacement is normalized by the domain size.
To calculate an absolute e.g. x-displacement, you have to multiply ux with the length of the domain, i.e. if ux=0.4% in one grid cell, domain size is 100µm, this would give a displacement of 0.4µm compared to its initial position.
However, the difference in u*CV between to neighboring cells gives you directly the local (*-normal) strain in %.
