hello everyone,

In ferritic phase transformation process, the austenite grain boundary and three-phase junction setting, the nucleation process of grow up collision happened between the ferrite phase, and I have set the interaction force between the ferrite phase, but they did not appear the phenomenon of large grain with small grain size, and I want to make such mergers occur between ferrite grain, Do you have any good ideas about this problem? Thank you for your help.

Looking forward to your reply.

Dear lv,

Did not get your question, can you please explain?

Dear Bernd,

First of all, thank you for your reply. I will restate my question. I want the small ferrite nucleated at the boundary to be swallowed by the large ferrite grains instead of such extrusion, as shown in the figure below.

I wish you a pleasant life.

Or what do you think might be the cause?

Hi lv,

I think you can change the behavior by adjusting interfacial energy parameters: If σ(α-α) is chosen smaller than σ(α-γ), there should be wetting between the ferrite precipitates instead of rejection. A factor of 2 is sufficient to achieve full wetting, if the transformation is fully diffusion controlled.

Further, you can increase the interface mobility between the ferrite particles μ(α-α) in order to accelerate ferrite grain growth.
