stress and strain

Post by shaojielv » Tue Mar 07, 2023 4:01 pm

I coupled the concentration field and stress in the process of austenitic-ferrite transformation, and the results showed that the stress inhibited the transformation. When I wanted to see the distribution of stress and strain, I found that the stress and strain were 0, and there was no change. What do you think is the reason? I look forward to receiving your reply.

Dear Shaojielv,

There are many possibilities how to get zero values for stress and strain, e.g. if both phases have exactly the same molar volume. But I don't know why the transformation then stopped - perhaps you have done some wrong input when changing to stress coupling, or you are using parameters which are far from a realistic order of magnitude...
