What are the necessary modules required by HOMAT? Is it Mesh2HOMAT alone?

Hi deepumaj1,

AFAIK only Mesh2HOMAT - but let's wait for Gottfried to be sure...

Hi,

HOMAT allows to calculate effective thermal, thermo-elastic properties of representative volume elements (RVE) of heterogeneous materials. The microstructures can be calculated by MICRESS or discretized directly. The interface program Mesh2HOMAT can read microstructures written in following formats: vtk, inp of ABAQUS or unv (IDEAS) or directly MICRESS microstructures (the grain file *.korn). In a multi-scale framework, HOMAT provides also the possibility to evaluate micro-strains and -stresses locally in the microstructure for a macro-strain state, extracted in a critical region of the sample at the macro-scale.
Moreover, effective elastoplastic flow curves can be derived via virtual testing. In this case the interface module Mesh2ABAQUS is used to generate the input files for the six uniaxial virtual tests on the microstructure. Then Abaqus simulations are performed and eventually the effective flow curves are derived by using the new Python script Aba2Hom.py.

best regards
