Hi,
I recently needed a useful but hidden option in the MICRESS input for Thermo-Calc coupling which I wish to present also to the MICRESS community: If one is using many elements and phases with coupling to a thermodynamic database it may happen that the data do not fit into the standard TC workspace of 100kB. Actually, I know only one database where this ever happened, and this is the TTNI7 (in conjunction with the GAMMA_PRIME phase).
If this happens, the operating system will report something like "memory corruption" or, even worse, nothing!
The solution is very easy: You can specify the TC workspace size in kB as an extra line after the input of the GES5 file name:
...
# Is a thermodynamic database to be used?
# Options: database no_database
database database_name
workspace_size 1000
...
