Dear Bernd,

I have two questions from the '''Self-consistent homoenthalpic Approach'' paper.

1) I am looking forward to get an equation for the solid phase fraction (homoenthalpic approach) but i fail to understand from the equations how it is calculated in the Micress. Rather, i would say, speaking stepwise what is calculated first to get the solid phase fraction iteratively. I think flowchart type of a explanation might make it easier to grasp.

2) What does k stand for in the equation (9) of the ''Self-consistent homoenthalpic Approach'' paper?

Best Regards
Raghav

Dear Raghav,

k means "component" in this equation.
Unfortunately, the equation has been mixed up when printing. Inside the sum over the phases alpha, the change of H with composition

\sum_k{{\partial H_\alpha \over \partial c_k}dc_k}
should be added to the change of H with phase amount

H_\alpha d\phi_\alpha
