Second substrate phase

Post by Bernd » Thu Jul 02, 2009 11:27 am

Hi all,

In multiphase simulations it may be not sufficient to specify one substrate phase for interface nucleation. Imagine a gamma-alpha transformation with cementite: In order to create a nucleation type for cementite only on the fcc-fcc interface and not on all other fcc-xxx interfaces, it is necessary to specify a second substrate phase. This is possible now:

#
# Input for seed type 2:
# ----------------------
# Type of 'position' of the seeds?
# Options: bulk region interface triple quadruple [restrictive]
interface
# Phase of new grains?
3
# Reference phase?
2
# Substrat phase [2nd phase in interface]?
# (for taking into account curvature undercooling, set to 2 to disable)
2 2
# maximum number of new nuclei 2?
100000
# Grain radius [micrometers]?
2.00000
