Hi
I am going to install new Thermocalc version 2017a.
It will be required to perform new GES files for sumulation running?

Thermocalc 2017
Re: Thermocalc 2017
Dear JACEK,
Welcome to the MICRESS forum!
The update of Thermo-Calc to version 2017a does not change the .ges file format, so .ges5 files are fully compatible to older Thermo-Calc (and MICRESS) versions. Thus, for running MICRESS there is no need to update the .ges5 files.
Anyway, the TQ-interface which is delivered with MICRESS (and which determines the .ges5 format required for running MICRESS) is not changed by a version change of Thermo-Calc, as the installation of MICRESS is completely independent.
Best regards
Bernd

Re: Thermocalc 2017
Thank You Bernd for information.
We have finished TC installation succesfully but on start the CMSX4_dri.txt we obtained comunicat :
# Reading GES5 workspace ... (see below) and simulation is on hold.
We have used dri file from trainning - without any changes -should work.
Could You recomend some actions to take?
Jacek
# Input of the phase diagram of phase 1 and phase 2:
# --------------------------------------------------
# Which phase diagram is to be used?
# Options: database [local|global|globalF][start_value_{1|2}] linear linearT
Q
database global
# Relinearisation mode for interface 1 / 2
# Options: automatic manual from_file none
none
# Reading GES5 workspace ...

Re: Thermocalc 2017
Dear JACEK,
it could be a license issue or a network problem. In order to narrow it further down, I would like to ask you some questions:
-do you have general problems running MICRESS, i.e also for examples which are not coupled to thermodynamic databases (e.g. Grain_Growth_dri)?
- do other examples which use coupling to thermodynamic databases work (e.g. Gamma_Alpha_dri, AlCU_dri)?
- did the CMSX4_dri run before installing TC2017a or before doing any other things?
- do you have a valid licence for the Thermotech TTNI database?
