MICRESS makes use of the Flex LM License manager. To issue a license file the HOST-ID of the computer on which MICRESS shall be installed is required.
Software to determine the HOST_ID of your machine is available at:
http://www.mve.com/static/host_id.html
For UNIX:
download either
Solaris version lmutil.gz or
IRIX version lmutil.gz
prompt# gzip -d lmutil.gz
prompt# ./lmutil lmhostid
The HostId is displayed on the screen.
It may be necessary to turn the program into an 'executable' . To do so just enter 'chmod 775 lmutil’
For Windows:
Download and run "lmtools.exe" by double click. In "systems settings" the Host_ID appears under "Ethernet Adress"

Determination of Host_ID
Re: Determination of Host_ID
Hi!
Alternatively once you have installed MICRESS, you should have a 'FLEXlm' directory: which contains a file 'Get_Host_ID[.bat]' (it only has this 'bat' extension under Windows): double-click it under Windows (execute it under Linux or Unix): this should give a file 'Host_ID.txt' (which is just what it says!).
