Dear Deepu,

Sorry I am a little unskilled for computer....but I can't check the environment variable from 'computer' bucause the 'administrator status' can not be selected....could you please tell me how to check it...(win10)

I have found the hosts file. There is no ip address as you said. I can add it after check the ip..

after inputing the verbose, it asked me to select license, but there is no one..

Best wishes!

Hi Sai Li,
Don't worry about your computer skills. Everyone starts as beginners :)

Yes, changing the system environment requires you to be a local admin. But don't worry about this one now. See if you can add the IP address in etc/hosts, without admin privilages. If it doesn't allow, you should take the help of the administrator for your PC. After you add this IP, your license should work. This should solve your problem. Looking forward...

Deepu.

Dear Deepu

Thank you for your kind help!

I can open the computer with administrator and check the environment ,but it is not the ip..should I change it? I input the ip address to hosts file but it seems doesn't work...(I don't know how to check the 'hostname' so I just type 'Users')

Thank you again! Best wishes!

Hi Sai Li,
No need to change the value of the environment variable. From the value you have currently, I see that the hostname of your license server is MML-PC. Hence in the etc\hosts file, change the word 'Users' to 'MML-PC'. Then it will work.

Best,
Deepu

Ok. Don't worry. Now, we can go back to your micress simulation. Instead of typing 'verbose', can you just press the Enter key after the error comes?. Or else, type something and press enter. Through one of these steps, we can make micress to spit out some messages on the screen (diagnostic messages). Let me know what the screen output is, after this...

Ok. One question here. Is the IP 166.111.38.15 the IP address of the license server or the IP address of the client (the machine that you are remotely accessing...)

Forgive that I am a little confused your meaning...the IP is the mainframe IP...I don't know if it is the IP address of the license server

Ok. It looks like the IP 166.111.38.15 is the IP of the machine you are currently using (or remotely accessing), which I believe is not your Micress license server. Right? If yes, can you find out what is the IP address of the machine where your micress license server is running? That IP address is what is to be entered in the etc\hosts file in your machine, along with the hostname 'MML-PC'. Can you check on this one?

Deepu
