Animation output

Post by Hamid » Sat May 02, 2009 9:45 pm

Dear all,

I am wondering how animation can be saved as an output in DP_MICRESS?

Thanks,
Hamid

Dear Hamid,

there is no direct way to create animations from DP_MICRESS. The way I usually build up Powerpoint animations is to set the output format in DP_MICRESS to gif and to select "output for all time steps". Then, gif images of all output time steps are written sequentially with the time string contained in the file name. If you import all these images at once in Powerpoint, they are automatically ordered with respect to the output time. After aligning all together (e.g. top and right) you can create an animation. This is quite straighforward and fast.

Alternatively, you could use a Linux tool like "convert" to make an animated gif from the individual images.
