general questing regarding the legend in DP_Micress

Post by R.Hess » Sun Oct 23, 2016 1:58 pm

Dear Bernd,

when i open the standart example output file
Gamma_Alpha_TQ_phas.mcr
in DP_Micress, the color scale shows a range between -1 and 2. How can I interpret this scale and what does it mean for the result?

I´m looking forward to your reply
Thank you

Raphael

Dear Raphael,

The .phas output displays the phase numbers (as specified in the input file) and the phase/grain boundaries (value -1). This allows to get an overview over the microstructure without focusing on concentration distributions (.conc*) or other specific properties like orientatin (.orie) or deformation energy (.rex).
