Hi. I'm Ravikumar. I'm a new user of Micress. I have installed Micress in my windows laptop. Both Display micress and MICpad crashes when I open. What could be the cause for this? Please find the message appearing in the image below. Thanks.

I cannot see any attached image. Can you please try to attach or insert it again? Otherwise, you can also just post the text of the error message.

which Windows version do you use (run "winver") ?

Did you choose the MICRESS executable and DP_MICRESS application in the MICpad configuration?
However, MICpad should not crash when choosing a wrong file to execute but sometimes it is not immediately responsible and nervous mouse clicking might crash it.

Batch scripts will only work when you start them directly, e.g. drag and drop a MICRESS driving file to your MICRESS icon on the desktop.

That is worth to give a try with DP_MICRESS. Browse to the example results and drag and drop a file with the extension .mcr to the DP_MICRESS icon on your desktop. Does that work?

I am using Windows 8 ver 6.3.
It works when I drag the example file and drop DP_MICRESS. However, MICpad is not working at all.

Hi Ravi,

try editing the configuration, directly.
It is stored in your home directory ( i.e. C:\Users\...\micpadrc6402.mcr ).

Necessary lines are:

micress=C:/Program Files/MICRESS-6.402/Bin/MICRESS_noTQ.exe
dp=C:\Program Files\MICRESS-6.402\Bin\DP_MICRESS.exe
fontsize=14
guiMode=false
navigationMode=false

Bytheway, do you use a local or a network home directory? Maybe MICpad has no write permissions to that file.
