Spam attack

Post by admin » Tue Mar 10, 2009 8:30 pm

Dear all,

Presently, there is a quite strong attack of spammers on our forum who try to place links to other webpages. These spammers are usually robots, and the question is how to prevent them from registering. I now increased the noise level in the settings for the visual autentification (CAPTCHA) for registration to see whether this helps. If you have problems with correctly seeing the letters please send us an e-mail and complain!

Spam attacks have become more and more severe and we had to remove many, many "bot users".

Thus we decided to request a registration confirmation for any newly registered forum user to be issued by us. We apologize for this inconvenience, but this seems to be a necessary measure to keep the forum for what it is meant for: Scientific and technological exchange in the area of phase-field and MICRESS applications.

Yours

George
