Thanks Bernd,
Is there any example in MICRESS website for gas bubble nucleation/formation? if yes which example?

Dear Ghavam,

Unfortunately, there is no gas bubble example right now. However, there is a publication which is already some years old:

A.Carré, B.Böttger, M.Apel: Phase-field modelling of gas porosity formation during the solidification of aluminium, International Journal of Materials Research 2010/04, Page 510-514.

As long as you would treat the GAS phase like a "normal" phase, there is nothing special with it. However, MICRESS in standard mode does not consider differences in molar volume, i.e. the bubbles would appear much too small. To allow for an isotropic "viscoplastic" expansion, you need to use the "volume_expansion" model.

Up to now we did not have an opportunity to apply the "volume_expansion" model with gas phases ourselves, so perhaps you would need some support when trying to do so...

Bernd
