I am trying to simulate phase transformation and thermal stress evolution during steel solidification. the elasticity and TLE data are correct I think. but the stress level I get is unreasonably high (around 10000). is the stress output unit MPa? if yes, it is totally wrong.
I have attached a screenshot of elasticity data, BCs, convergence criteria, and xx-stress output.
Would you please help to find the problem? why stress level is so high?

Re: Stress evolution during solidification
Hi Ghavam,
I think the problem could be that the thermal expansion coefficients which you are using are 2-3 orders of magnitude too high. It is length and not volume expansion which is required here.
